NEWS, EVENTS, Holy Day Mass Schedule:

COVID Precautions:

On Tuesday, September 7th, the Pastoral Council held an emergency meeting to discuss the rising rates of Covid-19 cases in Lemhi County.  Currently, we are in the “Critical Risk” category of Covid-19 transmission levels.  Covid-19 hospitalizations statewide have surpassed peaks reached last winter.  In addition, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is activating a “Crisis Standards of Care.” These guidelines help health care providers decide who should get life-saving care – like ventilators, ICU beds, and staff time.  We certainly don’t want these standards to be implemented in our county and region.  Please reference the link to an article that includes the stance of SMMC:  https://www.eastidahonews.com/2021/09/east-idaho-hospitals-issue-joint-statement-about-covid-19-surge-ask-community-for-support/

Therefore, with Fr. John and the Pastoral Council’s full approval and guidance, we will be implementing a number of strategies to further protect our parishioners and visitors along with setting clear expectations of what actions need to be taken.

Starting on Saturday, September 18th:

  • Fr. John will be adding a 9:00 a.m. Saturday Mass in the Church to ease congestion.  This Mass satisfies your Sunday obligation.

  • Ushers/Greeters will encourage parishioners and visitors to social distance themselves away from non-household members in the pews or choir loft.

  • We will continue Spiritual Exercises thirty minutes before Mass.

  • We will continue Coffee Hour after Sunday Mass as well as Religious Education classes.

  • We encourage parishioners and visitors to stay home if you or a member of your household are ill.

  • We encourage wearing masks that are provided.

More information will be provided as the Pastoral Council documents a plan of action after this month’s PC meeting on Tuesday, September 21st.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we move forward during this challenging time.
